TLM at Philadelphia's Carmelite Monastery

The annual summer novena to Our Lady of Mt Carmel begins tomorrow at the Carmelite Monastery of St Joseph and St Ann.  On Sunday July 13 the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered in the Extraordinary Form.  The celebrant will be Father Ronald Check.

The novena schedule for each night is Rosary followed by Litany at 6:45pm, sacred music and Mass at 7:30pm.  The Mass is offered in the Ordinary Form (with the exception of July 13th ) but it is celebrated ad orientem.  The Gloria, Sanctus, Pater Noster and Agnus Dei are chanted in Latin.

The Monastery is located at 66th Ave and Old York Road and off-street parking is available in the lot adjacent to the Carmel.  FYI the TLM tends to draw many people as does the Feast Day Mass on July 16.    Once the chapel reaches capacity the over-flow of the faithful can assist at the Mass via close circuit television in the public courtyard outside the chapel.  It is recommended that you arrive by 6:30pm in order to ensure a seat inside the chapel.
