Solemn Mass in the Extraordinary Form for the Feast of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary

Sunday October 7, St Paul Church will have a Solemn High Mass for the Feast of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary.  Rosary, as always, will be recited at the Lady Altar at 11:30am followed by Mass in the Extraordinary Form at 12 Noon.

St Paul Church is located on Christian Street between 9th and 10th and free off-street parking is available in the schoolyard directly across from the church.

Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

We apologize that our photos are not of their usual quality.  Surely, this was the most beautiful Mass at which we have ever assisted.  The blog administrator chose to follow a gentleman on the highway who had a "Traditional Latin Mass" bumper sticker on his car.  This proved to be unfortunate as he apparently had no better clue how to get to St. Peter's in Merchantville than we did.  Thus, we did not arrive in enough time to procure an advantageous seat for photos.  Nonetheless, we wanted to share with the readers anyway and express our gratitude to Father Robert Pasley and Mater Ecclesiae  for such an exquisite demonstration of love for Our Lady through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in the Extraordinary Form.   Many thanks to Father Anthony Manuppella and the people of St. Peter's Church in Merchantville for hosting this 12th annual Mass in honor of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Important Notice

Please be advised that due to the unavailability of a priest, there will be no TLM for the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary at St Paul Church, nor will there be a TLM for the Feast of the Transfiguration.  I regret to bring you this unfortunate news but wanted to get word out so the faithful can make arrangements to hear Mass elsewhere on those important feast days.

High Solemn Mass in the Extraordinary Form: Feast of the Most Precious Blood

Following are some photos of the TLM at St Paul Church, South Philadelphia, for the Feast of the Most Precious Blood.  The celebrant was Father Dennis Carbonaro, pastor of Our Lady of Consolation Church in the Tacony section of Philadelphia.  The pastor of St Paul Church, Father Gerald P. Carey, served as Deacon.  Mr. Christopher Moriconi,  a 3rd year collegian St. Charles Seminary, served as Subdeacon.  Mr.Moriconi recently received the minor orders of Lector and Acolyte and is on parish assignment this summer at St. Madeline's Church, Ridley Park, PA.  This was his first TLM as Subdeacon.

Following the Mass, a reception was held in the rectory.  Many thanks to Mrs. Paula Miola and the ladies of the Ancillae Domini for planning and provisioning this event.  Sincere thanks also to Mr. Thomas Rudolph for    his generosity in both taking photos and working to ensure that all our visitors were both welcomed and well-fed.

TLM for the Feast of the Precious Blood

On Sunday July 1st, the Feast of the Precious Blood, there will be a Solemn High Mass at Noon at St. Paul Church.  Father Dennis Carbonaro, pastor of Our Lady of Consolation Church, will be the celebrant.  Father Gerald P. Carey, pastor of St. Paul,  will be the Deacon and as yet unnamed seminarian, an instituted acolyte, will serve as the sub-Deacon.  All are welcome and invited to attend.  St. Paul Church is located in South Philadelphia, on Christian Street between 9th and 10th Streets.  Free parking is available in the schoolyard directly across the street from the church.

St. Paul is within easy walking distance of Center City and Historical Independence Hall.  Visitors are always welcome.
